Earth Network
The earthing* of an installation is vital and necessary for the safety of people and property. In addition it plays an active role in EMC.
*also called "grounding"

Definition The earth network consists of all metal parts of a building connected together: beams, conduits, cable trays, metal frames or devices, all parts which must be connected together to guarantee the equipotentiality of the earth network.
Cablofil® Integrated in the earth network In order to benefit from the safety and EMC advantages, Cablofil® should be bonded to the earth of the installation at least every 15 to 20 metres. If the length is less than 15 to 20 metres, Cablofil® must be connected to the earth at each end. To correctly evacuate any fault and noise currents, the electrical circuit formed by the cable tray must be closed. Role of the protective conductor: The protective conductor is a simple and efficient means of connecting the cable tray to earth.
Advantages of an equipotential ground network The equipotential earth network works like a system of conduits evacuating any fault currents and the parasite currents to earth. This provides a means of: Protecting people and property. Obtaining a satisfactory EMC performance level.
Suitable accessories The installer must first determine the cross-section of the protective conductor. The Cablofil® range includes a wide range of suitable accessories:
		GRIFEQUIP: aluminium connector representing an easy, low-cost earthing solution for a protective conductor of cross-section 6mm2 to 35mm2.
		Bi-metal terminal: bi-metal connector for safe, durable earthing for protective conductors of 16mm2, 35mm2 and 50mm2.
		Terminal support + bi-metal terminal: for earthing to suit the most demanding specifications.
